Vicious Villain's Blog Hop!

Welcome to Sassy Studio Designs' Vicious Villains blog hop and release!  You should have arrived here from Rebecca's blog.  If you didn't, please go back to the SSD Blog to start the hop at the beginning.  We will be having a scavenger hunt and you'll need to read up on the directions so that you could possibly win some of these fabulous images!!  As part of the hop, we are to tell you what our favorite Disney movie is...well, I'd have to say my all-time favorite is The Sword in the Stone.  I just LOVE the wizards' duel!!!

Lindsay has once again out-done herself!  Today we are releasing some fabulous Disney villains images that you are going to flip over- Malificent, Lady Tremain, Cruella DeVille, the Queen of Hearts, Ursula, and the Evil Queen.

Here is my card using Lady Tremaine.  For those of you who aren't up on your Disney villains, Lady Tremaine is Cinderella's evil stepmother.  In all honesty, I have never see Disney's Cinderella.  My absolute favorite Cinderella is Roger's and Hammerstein's Cinderella with Lesley Ann Warren and Stuart Damon.  I could watch it over and over again...check this out:  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OIe2Y5lgahQ.  Ah, that brings back SO many childhood memories!!  Oh, sorry...here is my card:

I apologize for the strange angle, but I had trouble with glare while taking the picture.  I printed the background, which I found online at I Love Disney, onto photo paper.  My creative juices had turned to  molasses while I was working on this card, but I hope you like it.  I'm looking forward to working with some of the other villain images- especially Cruella DeVille!  I just LOVE 101 Dalmations!!

Now head on over to Kathy's blog and see what kind of villainous fabulousness she has for you!!  If you get lost along the way, here is the complete blog list:

In Case of Emergency...

I saw this on Pinterest and thought it was cute...

...and there ARE times when a chocolate attack hits and this could come in handy!  :)

It takes only about 5 minutes to make!  I picked up the frame from Walmart for something like $3.00.  Printed the words on my computer, cut the cardstock to 5 x 7" and using redline tape, taped the candy bar to the cardstock-  et voila...a cute little something!   I made this as a little gift for a dear friend...hope it'll come in handy for her one day!  :)   Here is the link to the original product- Kim's Kandy Kreations.  She sells them for $7.50 plus shipping.  They're much cheaper to make yourself!!!

All That Shimmers and Shines

Today, Sassy Studio Designs is sponsoring Love To Create .  The challenge is "All That Shimmers and Shines".  I recently attended a shoebox swap with my wonderful stamping group The Meade Girls and I won a door prize- a pack of glitter cardstock from Stampin' Up.  When I saw the challenge, I knew I HAD to use this paper!!!!  I found the sentiment online and thought it would be perfect for this card:

It was hard to get a picture of it without glare, but these didn't turn out too badly.

I wanted to color the dress to look like fire and wanted to use my Prisma pencils, which I am not very good at using.  I've had them a long time...and, well...it's a long story!  Anyway, I went to Michael's yesterday in search of a Prisma blending pencil to use on this image, and, of course, they didn't have any.  Come to the rescue my dear, sweet friend, Gloria!  She had several "extras" so she dropped one off to me today.  THANK YOU, Gloria!  I owe you- again!  :)

Now, anyone who knows me knows that I am "glitterphobic".  I love the way glitter looks, but I just hate how it gets all over everything...including ME!  I used Stickles on the bottom of her dress...I love Stickles!  Now, the Stampin' Up glitter paper- well, FYI...the glitter DOES come off!!  Not terribly, but enough to nearly freak me out!!

I hope you enjoyed my card and that you'll come back again soon!!

Stamps:  Katniss- Girl on Fire (Sassy Studio Designs), sentiment computer-generated
Papers:  Real Red, Pumpkin Pie, Daffodil Delight, glitter paper (all Stampin' Up), Neenah 80# white
Accessories:  Copic Markers, Prisma Pencils, Prisma Blending Pencil, Stickles, pop dots

A Very Special Blog Hop

This is a VERY special blog hop!  We are celebrating the part 2 release of SSD's "It's A Small World" Honey images, but today we also celebrate Lindsay's birthday!!! For those of you who don't know, Lindsay is our fearless leader at SSD.  She is the talent who creates and draws Sassy Studio's fabulous images!!   You should have arrived here from Rebecca's blog.  If you didn't, please go back to the Sassy Studio Designs blog to start the hop at the beginning.  It's a big hop with lots of fun activities and fabulous creations!

There will be several things going on during this hop...#1- you will get to see the brand new country images that are available in the SSD Store today- Japan, France, China, India, the Phillipines, and the Netherlands.. Each card will have a special birthday greeting for Lindsay in the language of the image.   #2- you have a chance to win a fabulous prize by solving a mystery message for Lindsey.  Each blog will feature two letters that you need to collect to solve the puzzle.  #3- we will be having a trivia contest during the hop- there will be 10 questions and the person who answers the most questions correctly will win a prize!  Those questions will be on the SSD Blog!

So, without further adieu, here is my card featuring the fabulous Japan Honey image.

I didn't like the way the birthday greeting looked on the outside of the card, so I put it on the inside here:

Happy birthday, Lindsay!!  I hope you have a day as fabulous as you are!

Your next stop on your around-the-world trip is Shari's blog.  Just in case you get lost, here is the entire blog hop list.  Have fun!!!

Stampin' with the Meade Girls!

I really meant to get these posted earlier but due to a family emergency, it didn't happen.  Now that things are calming down I'm able to get it done.

Last Saturday, I spent the afternoon with 21 of THE most fabulous ladies stamping the afternoon away!  Amanda and Cindy hosted a shoebox swap on Ft. Meade, and as usual, they did a fabulous job of it!  Games, door prizes, lots of delicious food, and of course, wonderful cards!!  Despite a hiccup with the room rental on post, we had a great time!!!

I didn't take a picture of my card before the swap, and it wasn't in my box when I got home from the swap.  A BIG thanks to Theresa for sending me a picture of it that she had taken at the swap.  Here's the card that I took for everyone to make using Cherry Cobbler and Creamy Caramel cardstock, Newsprint DSP and Nature's Walk stamp set by Stampin' Up!

Now, here are the cards that we made:
